LEGALEVERGRID TECHNOLOGY INC.
Privacy Policy
How EverGrid Technology Inc. (EGT) collects, uses and protects personal information on www.evergridtech.com and the viewer.evergridtech.com monitoring portal.
Effective date: October 12, 2026
EverGrid Technology Inc. (“EverGrid,” “EGT,” “we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have.
This policy applies to our website at www.evergridtech.com, our solar and energy storage monitoring portal at viewer.evergridtech.com, related EverGrid mobile applications, and the data our microinverters, hybrid inverters, gateways and energy storage systems send to these services (together, the “Services”).
1. Who we are
EverGrid Technology Inc. is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, USA, and is responsible for the personal information processed through the Services. Our subsidiaries and affiliates may process information on our behalf under this policy. Where a local law gives you additional rights, we apply them for the people it protects.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, telephone number, company name, user name and password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form).
- System and site information: installation address or location, time zone, system owner and installer details, equipment model and serial numbers, and settings you enter such as utility tariff or export limits.
- Communications: messages you send through our contact form, email or phone, support and warranty requests, and survey responses.
- Business contact information: details of installers, distributors and partners we work with.
Information from your EverGrid equipment
When a system is connected to our monitoring service, its gateway or inverters send technical and performance data, including device identifiers and serial numbers, firmware versions, energy production and consumption, battery state of charge, voltage, current, frequency and temperature readings, fault and alarm events, and network connection status. This data is linked to the system’s account so that you and your installer can monitor and service the system.
Information collected automatically
When you use our website or portal, our servers record technical information such as IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, pages viewed, referring pages, and the date and time of access. We use cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 6.
Information from others
Installers and distributors often register a system on behalf of its owner. In that case they provide us with the owner’s name, contact details and site information.
3. How we use information
We use personal information only for purposes that are necessary to run our business and provide the Services, including to:
- create and manage accounts and provide the monitoring portal and apps;
- show system performance, send alerts and notifications, and generate reports;
- provide technical support, remote diagnostics, firmware updates and warranty service;
- keep the Services, our products and the electrical grid safe, including detecting faults, misuse and security incidents;
- improve our products and Services, using aggregated or de-identified data wherever possible;
- respond to inquiries and send service messages about your account or equipment;
- send product news and marketing where permitted by law; you can opt out at any time;
- comply with legal, regulatory, grid-interconnection and certification requirements, and protect our legal rights.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases: performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests (such as product safety and improvement) where they are not overridden by your rights, your consent (for example, for marketing or non-essential cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We keep personal information confidential. We share it only as described below:
- Your installer or distributor: the installer or distributor who set up or services your system can see its monitoring data so they can support you. System owners can ask us to change or remove an installer’s access at any time.
- Service providers: companies that host our systems, provide cloud, email, analytics or customer-support tools, or otherwise act on our behalf. They may use the information only to provide services to us and must protect it.
- Affiliates: EverGrid subsidiaries and affiliated companies under common control, for the purposes described in this policy.
- Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, court order or legal process, or when necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of EverGrid, our customers or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this policy’s protections.
- With your consent: in any other case where you ask us to or agree that we may.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or a directly related purpose, unless a longer period is required by law or contract. In particular:
- account information is kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period after it is closed;
- detailed system performance data, such as minute-by-minute monitoring readings, is kept for a limited period under our retention schedule and then deleted or summarized;
- summary system performance data, such as total energy output, is kept for the life of the system so that we can support warranty claims and product safety;
- website logs and support records are kept according to our internal retention schedules and then deleted or de-identified.
We may keep aggregated or de-identified data that can no longer identify you.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies that are necessary for the website and portal to work (for example, to keep you signed in), cookies that remember your preferences, and analytics cookies that help us understand how the Services are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block necessary cookies, parts of the portal may not work. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals.
7. How we protect information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including:
- encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and of passwords at rest;
- access limited to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis, matched to their role and training;
- restricted, monitored systems with access logging and audit records to verify data integrity and investigate unauthorized access attempts;
- secure storage of physical records and confidentiality obligations for staff and service providers.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we learn of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.
8. International data transfers
EverGrid is based in the United States, and our Services are used in many countries. Your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
9. Your choices and rights
You can review and update most of your account and system information yourself by signing in at viewer.evergridtech.com. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your personal information;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it);
- not be treated differently for exercising your rights.
To make a request, email privacy@evergridtech.com or write to us at the address below. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law (for example, 45 days under California law). You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Deleting an account may stop monitoring for the systems linked to it. Some information may be kept where the law requires it or for warranty and safety records.
10. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for adults and businesses. They are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party sites and services
Our Services may link to websites or services run by others, such as distributors, utilities or app stores. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on the monitoring portal at viewer.evergridtech.com before they take effect.
